Started over 60 years ago, Taurus® was not always the firearm manufacturer that it is today. Originally a tool manufacturer based solely in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Taurus® didn’t produce their first revolver, the Model 3910SO, until 1941. With the popularity of the Model 3910SO in South America, Taurus® soon began to set its sights on the American market and in 1968, began to utilize the services of various U.S distributors to try and bring their product to the American market.
It wasn’t until the late 1980s, however, that Taurus® officially became a contender in the U.S firearms market. In 1982, Taurus® took a giant leap and opened an affiliate company in Miami, Florida, hoping to spread the word of their company and gain more popularity in America. The next big step came in 1984 at the Dallas, Texas S.H.O.T. Show when Taurus® made an announcement that took the firearm industry by storm. For the first time in the history of firearm manufacturing, Taurus® did what no other manufacturer had ever done and offered their customers an unheard of Lifetime Factory Warranty. This single announcement changed the future of Taurus® firearms by proving they were a force to be reckoned with.
Despite the early problems faced when trying to reach the American market, Taurus® has gone on to win many awards, verifying that they are here to stay. In 1994, Taurus® became only the second firearms company in the world to receive the ISO 9001 designation from the International Organization for Standardization for their superior manufacturing and marketing practices.
Since then, Taurus® has gone on to manufacture a long line of quality and trusted firearms. Popular among civilians and trusted by government and law enforcement agencies, Taurus® pistols are designed for quality and reliability and come with Taurus’® famous Lifetime Factory Warranty. From the Taurus® Millennium to the 24/7 series and the famous Pt-92, Taurus® pistols are known for their excellent handling, outstanding performance and comfort and control. New to the Taurus® line is the Raging Judge, which allows shooters to load their choice of .45 Colt ammunition or seven rounds of .410 3-inch or 2.5 inch shotshells all in the same revolver.
